A game of dice remains on the list of the most popular and enduring forms of games today, enjoyed by both children and adults alike. The chance to win on a dice game is determined by the dice (plural) or a die cube which is a small, six-sided polyhedral object that is rolled on a flat surface to generate a random number or number combinations (or symbols and images in non-numbered dice).

The classic numbered dice have black pitted dots called “pips” on each of the six faces or sides, pitted from 1 to 6 pips. This enables one random number to come up with each roll. In some games, one die is rolled while a few games like craps use two dice rolled at the same time to come up with larger value totals.

Many of the classic board games our grandparents have played and which we enjoy up to now are in dice game formats, such as backgammon, high rollers, snakes and ladders, pig, crown and anchor, hazard, six-five-four, and so many others. Aside from family favorites, some high-stake casino games like craps, klondike, big six, and poker dice are also played with dice.

Generally, the dice are rolled by the players and the number of dots on the top face determines crucial actions in the game, such as number of movements (ascending or descending), number of rewards, or number of moves or chance.

Over the years, players in betting games that depend on dice have mastered the art of throwing the dice to determine the exact way it will land, a theory that was supported by classical mathematics. However, the random nature of rolling still reigns most of the time, since a number of factors can alter an expected “face”. These factors include weight of the faces in relation to the “pips” and the slightest variance in the measured speed and the height from which the object is thrown.

There are so many dice games available today – from classic dice board games for kids to various betting games that fall under casino dice games, hustler or operator dice games and social gambling dice games.

Dice game rules can vary from the simplest manual counting of the pip totals to calculating the most complicated mathematical equations requiring pen, paper and calculator. The specific rules differ depending on the kind of dice game being played.

Craps is the most popular gambling game to date, with the largest amount of money gambled on it than on any other gambling game. Two dice are used and every new play is made by initiating a “come out roll.” If the player fails to make a Point, the next player takes the turn. If the current player makes a Point, he continues playing until he rolls the losing combination of seven.

Meantime, the operator dice game High Dice involves very easy dice game rules. The banker throws the dice and sums up his combinations. The player then takes his turn rolling, and must surpass the total of the banker. If the score is equal, the banker wins.

No matter what type of dice games you are playing, there are basic and general dice game rules that almost all dice games adhere to. First is the dice determines the order of playing (the players with the highest number result in a roll takes the first turn, and so on). Second is a dice is rolled to break ties in a locked game; and third, a dice is re-thrown to resolve a cocked dice (dice that landed on a tipped or unbalanced angle) and a stacked dice (dice that rolled on top of another).

Rolling the dice can seem like a fun and casual thing to do like any other forms of child plays. It can also be an exciting and intriguing yet still harmless thing to play with when used in amateur fortune-telling, future predictions or in chance games involving love and romance.

However, dice rolling is a very delicate and complicated issue when it comes to traditional casino games, where big wagers are at stake. This is because there have been a number of ways that have been schemed so that the seemingly harmless act of dice rolling can be controlled by the thrower so it turns over a desired number or a pair of numbers needed to snag the pot money, which could be worth thousands or millions of dollars.

Various forms of controlling dice rolling include rhythm rolling (holding and throwing the dice in a particular way); dice setting (using different combinations of positioning and holding two dice in the hands); and various controlled hand maneuvers like the blanket roll, the spin shot, the whip shot and cartwheeling, among others. There were also some dice that were found to be shaped or manufactured to give a biased result or probability, like varying the weights of the sides or either trimming or sharpening the edges to control a rebound.

Casino houses have devised ways to prevent dice rolling cheats from damaging the reputation of the gaming establishments. These include using a dice throwing cup (but which can also be altered or controlled) and using fool-proof backboards and interfaces and installing closed circuit television cameras.

Dice rolling cheats can also happen in virtual or casino online gaming. There are a few instances where casino software was found to be ill-designed so that the simulated rebounding of the dice against a backboard can be altered by the online operator.

One need not have huge amounts of money just to have fun and excitement in playing dice game. You can set your own casino table and cards at home and use trinkets, candies, medals, or merit ribbons as your stake. To simulate the excitement of a high-stakes casino game, have everybody wager something cheap but personally cherished like a photograph, a piece of jewelry, a favorite T-shirt, or even a book.

If you don’t have anybody to play with, and just want to practice on your logical thinking, speed, or alertness – or get familiar with dice game interfaces – you can always play in various online dice games available on the Internet for free.

Many sites, for example, offer fun variations of the dice game Yahtzy. The games are Java-enabled and come with easy-to-follow, step-by-step instructions so that you can start playing right away. The big winners can post their names and winning scores on the site. It is also a great way to meet fellow online dice gamers and get some coaching.

For poker fanatics, there are numerous free downloadable games that resemble dice poker. Various players from around the world can keep track and compare their scores.

There are other multiplayer dice game internet sites that simulate a dice rebound. A player gets three chances to rill the dice by clicking assigned keys or buttons, and must post their scores after the third roll. This site is great for friends and families in various virtual points and even as a solitary game playing with other virtual gamers.

Poker dice is a variant of the game of poker, but instead of using traditional cards for poker or traditional pips or block dots on the dice, the game uses a dice where images of playing cards are pitted on the sides.

Generally, the poker dice have the image of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, a ten and a nine. These are used to form the poker hand. Since there is no suit on the dice, the poker hands Flush and Straight Flush are not possible in poker dice. The four poker hands that are possible include Five of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Three of a Kind, and Full House.

The classic poker dice can be played between two to five players. It is played with 5 dice and every player is entitled three rolls. The player rolls all five dice on the first move. On the second, he or she can set aside any number of dice and roll those that were not set aside. The dice that are not set aside cannot be played or rolled in the third move.

If the player is content with the poker hand resulting from the first roll, he or she may forgo his turn for the second or third roll. The resulting face combinations determine the poker hand each player has.

Poker dice are played for both high-stake casino gaming or as a casual game played among peers. For non-wager poker dice games, penalties may include picking up the tab in a restaurant visit, cleaning up the game room, or performing a daring stunt – all for fun
