Poker dice is a variant of the game of poker, but instead of using traditional cards for poker or traditional pips or block dots on the dice, the game uses a dice where images of playing cards are pitted on the sides.
Generally, the poker dice have the image of Ace, King, Queen, Jack, a ten and a nine. These are used to form the poker hand. Since there is no suit on the dice, the poker hands Flush and Straight Flush are not possible in poker dice. The four poker hands that are possible include Five of a Kind, Four of a Kind, Three of a Kind, and Full House.
The classic poker dice can be played between two to five players. It is played with 5 dice and every player is entitled three rolls. The player rolls all five dice on the first move. On the second, he or she can set aside any number of dice and roll those that were not set aside. The dice that are not set aside cannot be played or rolled in the third move.
If the player is content with the poker hand resulting from the first roll, he or she may forgo his turn for the second or third roll. The resulting face combinations determine the poker hand each player has.
